Molly Semler

Molly Semler and her husband, Sebastian von Trapp, own and operate von Trapp Farmstead, a third-generation family dairy farm located in the Mad River Valley of Vermont. Their Certified Organic farmstead produces five styles of cheese and two flavors of yogurt, in addition to whey-fed pork and beef. They milk 45 cows that are rotationally grazed in the summer months and consume dry hay they’ve harvested during the winter. Molly has over a decade of experience as a cheesemaker and manages the creamery. Sebastian continues his family's legacy of running the farm, and together they are dedicated to upholding a strong tradition of dairying in Vermont, a practice that is becoming increasingly rare. They are committed to producing high-quality organic food in a manner that deeply respects the soil, grass, animals, and the individuals who make their work possible. Von Trapp Farmstead cheeses have received numerous national and international awards for quality, including two Super Golds at the World Cheese Awards in 2024.
