Annelise Orleck
Annelise Orleck is Professor of History at Dartmouth College and the author of numerous books and articles about women's and poor people's activism. Among them are Common Sense and a Little Fire: Women and Working-Class Politics in the United States; Soviet Jewish Americans; Storming Caesars' Palace: How Black Mothers Fought Their Own War on Poverty; Rethinking American Women's Activism; and most recently We Are All Fast Food Workers Now: The Global Uprising Against Poverty Wages. We Are All Fast Food Workers examines, among other forms of activism, the rise of a global movement among farmers and farm workers for basic rights, land sovereignty, decent labor conditions, for the preservation of indigenous crop varieties and more. Her work has appeared in Salon; Jacobin; Ms., The Guardian, the LA Times Book Review and more.
